Aproximativ o mie de ani \u00een urm\u0103, Rabeinu Ger\u0219om, a interzis postul \u00een aceast\u0103 zi, conferindu-i astfel un statut festiv. \u00cencep\u00e2nd cu secolul al XVI-lea, a ap\u0103rut tradi\u021bia de a consuma fructe din \u021aara Israelului \u0219i de a povesti despre frumuse\u021bea acestui p\u0103m\u00e2nt, exprim\u00e2nd astfel speran\u021ba \u00eentoarcerii acas\u0103.<br \/>\n\u00cen secolul al XVII-lea, \u00een ora\u0219ul cabali\u0219tilor, \u021afat, a fost publicat\u0103 cartea \u201ePri Etz Hadar\u201d, care a transformat Tu Bi-\u0218vat \u00eentr-o s\u0103rb\u0103toare oficial\u0103 cu obiceiuri precise. Cartea recomanda consumul a 30 de fructe ale \u021a\u0103rii Israelului \u0219i studiul unor texte sfinte evreie\u0219ti. Cabali\u0219tii au introdus \u0219i un ritual preluat din Pesah: consumul a patru pahare de vin \u00een timpul mesei festive, cu o tranzi\u021bie simbolic\u0103 a culorii vinului de la alb la ro\u0219u, marc\u00e2nd trecerea de la iarn\u0103 la var\u0103.
